Finesse Entertainment debuts with Sama

Fledging record label, Finesse Entertainment, has announced the release of four hit-bound releases in four weeks from its four signees. To this end, musician and rapper Barnabas Buba-Luka – aka Classiq – is the first artiste to release his music on the label. The track – Sama – which was produced by the label’s in-house producer, Super Soniq, is a fusion of northern Nigeria flavour laced with a distinct afro pop and techno sound.

According to the artiste born in Bauchi and raised in Kano, Sama means Up in his native language, Hausa. He adds, “I see the song as much more than a song but a movement which simply charges people to move up wherever they presently are. Although a better part of the chorus is rendered in Hausa, he says each line conveys a strong meaning. “For instance ‘Baki za ba abarki a baya’ means if you don’t come with us, you will be left behind. This is a wakeup call, urging people to join the winning train.”
He joins Ice Prince in headlining the wave making Hausa Boy or Aboki swag.
