On October 26, Mariam Abubakar (pictured above) went to Pearl Habour Night Club in Rochester Garden Hotel, Festac to “catch weekend fun.” Her friend, who pleaded anonymity, said they only went there “to hang out” when Babatunde, who was obviously drunk, started to make advances to Abubakar.

Two months till doomsday? Mayan Apocalypse set for Dec. 21
If you believe in that sort of thing, humanity can expect a
mere two months left of existence before the Mayan apocalypse hits Dec. 21.
Today (Oct. 21) starts the two-month countdown toward doomsday, according to an interpretation of the Mayan Calendar that has taken hold in some New Age and spiritualist communities online.
Two ancient texts confirm the end date of the Mayan Long Count calendar on the winter solstice of this year, which is Dec. 21, 2012. That day is the last day of the 13th bak'tun, or 144,000-day cycle, of the calendar. Ancient Maya would have seen the end of the 13th bak'tun as the end of a full cycle of creation.

Mikel Obi explains why he started a record label
'Apart from football, music is another thing I had passion
for while I was growing up in Jos. I have so much emotional attachment to
music. It lifts my soul and makes me happy. The arrival of MMM Records (Matured
Money Minds) has gone a long way to show the deep love I have for music. I want
to contribute my little quota to the growth of the music industry in Nigeria. I'm
a good song writer and singer. If I wasn't a footballer, I would have done well
as a singer or a disc jockey (DJ)' - Mikel Obi

Yinka Ayefele cries out over plan to demolish his Nmillion house
The Oyo state government is planning to demolish the multi million naira music house - The Yinka Ayefele Music House, belonging to Tungba music creator, Yinka Ayefele, which is situated along Falana Rd in Ibadan .
The state government said last week that the building is being considered for demolition because its on the right-of-way for the planned 8-lane road expansion in Ibadan.
Reacting publicly for the first time since he got the news, Ayefele told Gbenga Shaba of Yes! Magazine that the planned demolition is a test of his faith.
"I know it's a test of my faith and it will soon pass. I observed the stipulated distance range for the building, but no one knew that the area would soon attract an 8-lane way, which will mean more lands have to give way for the expansion. I know I'm not the only one this will affect. there are hundreds of good people of Oyo state who derive their daily meals from different activities that are carried out in the building. I know the governor of Oyo state will now allow injustice to be carried out. I know he has a good heart and if the house is demolished, I hope I will be duely compensated.

Flood: President Jonathan, Dr Alban's country homes submerged
The flood has so far displaced over 50, 000 people in some states in the north, middle belt and parts of Delta regions. Dr Alban's country home in Oguta, Imo State and President Jonathan's country home in Otuoke community, Bayelsa State have bowed to the flood. More than half of the communities in these areas have been swallowed by flood.
Victims of this flood have been subjected to incredible hardship that most of us who live in states not affected will never begin to understand. Many deaths have been recorded. There have been rape cases, suicides and people missing.
This flood is not particularly a natural disaster, it's more like man made. The flood started early September when Cameroun released water from it's Lagdo dam - the dam supplies electricity to the northern part of Cameroun. Unfortunately water released from the dam is naturally unable to find its path within Cameroun to the Atlantic ocean, so it flows directly into River Benue, and because River Benue is steep, all the states around it is flooded by the water from the dam. Damn!

'I have not been on a date in two years' - Rihanna tells Vogue
Rihanna to Vogue Magazine (This was probably before getting back with Chris Brown )
I have not been on a date in forever. Like two years. Haven’t gone to the movies, to dinner. Zero. I would love to go on a date! You don’t think that? I’m a woman. A young woman, vibrant, and I love to have fun. And I have too many vaginas around me at this point. Seriously, all I want is a guy to take me out and make me laugh for a good hour and take my ass back home. He doesn’t even have to come up. All I want is a conversation for an hour. I’m waiting for the man who’s ballsy enough to deal with me. I’m going to wait, though. You always find the wrong sh-t when you go looking.About her relationship with Chris Brown - see her answer after the cut...

Aluu 4 were NOT armed robbers, they were set up - IG of Police
The Inspector General of police, Mohammed Abubakar, said today that the four UNIPORT students lynched by a mob in Aluu on 5th October, were not armed robbers.
In a statement released by the IGP today, he said investigations conducted by the police so far revealed that Tekena, Llyod, Ugonna and Chiadika had gone to Aluu that morning to demand for money allegedly owed to them by a guy named Coxson Lelebori Lucky, also known ‘Bright’, and it was Bright who raised a false alarm that they were armed robbers. And you all know what happened next..they were all brutally killed.
The IGP also said in the statement that Coxson/Bright has disappeared, but promised to track him down. The statement mentioned 4 suspects as being directly involved in the killing. They are: Chigozie Samuel Evans, Felemo Solomon, Cynthia Chinwo, and Ozioma Abajuo.
